The Reverend Jerome Grotts was appointed in 2020 to Pea Ridge, his family's home church. In February 2023, Jerome resigned his pastorate and moved to Southern California for his secular job as a school administrator. During this brief period in San Diego, he was afforded the opportunity to fill the pulpit at North Coast UMC in Oceanside. Jerome returned to Northwest Arkansas and his teaching job in the Fall 2023. In early Summer 2024, he was appointed to serve Elkins UMC on a quarter-time basis. On July 8, 2024, he was reappointed to serve as pastor of Pea Ridge, in addition to Elkins.
Rev. Grotts holds graduate degrees in Educational Leadership, Teaching, and Special Education- from Harding University, and in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. His undergraduate degree in occupational safety and health is from Columbia Southern University. He currently works as a specialist in special education at Rogers High School.
Jerome is married to Vickie, Chief Finance Officer of the Northwest Arkansas Council and pastor of Brightwater Memorial United Methodist Church. They are parents to Ciera (husband Russell), Morris (partner Aurielle), Desirae, and Dexter. They are also grandparents to Taylor, Hayden, Brooklyn, Brielle, Zace, Clarke, Alexandra, and Nellie.
In his spare time (what is that?!?), he is a Lieutenant Colonel in Civil Air Patrol (US Air Force Auxiliary), where he serves as Arkansas Wing Chief of Staff and Director of Personnel. In his CAP time, he enjoys teaching young people about leadership and flying in the back of the plane, taking pictures. Jerome, Vickie, and Dexter love travel (exploring new places in and out of the States) and trying new cuisine.
